Christmas Eve in the Ninemile

On Christmas Eve, if you looked down the valley, you'd have spotted a stream of headlights slowly winding up the Ninemile...tires crunching in the fresh snow...deer pausing mid-browse on this quiet winter night.

You'd be hard-pressed to find a more lovely setting to celebrate peace and community. This year, we had close to 100 valley residents and friends crowd together in the historic church to sing carols and listen to a reading of the traditional Christmas story. Serenaded by Ellie Nuño & Stu Williams, we squeezed together in that small space, shoulder-to-shoulder, spilling out the doorway and into the night - and shared a truly special evening.

Afterwards, we enjoyed holiday treats, hot cocoa and mulled cider, and the warmth of good friends and family.

What a wonderful celebration of the season. We wish good tidings to everyone in 2016.
